Ridley Dean Triathlon/TT Bike

State of the art. Groundbreaking. Revolutionary.
Ridley's race-winning frames are the fastest in the world. Period.

Ridley Aero Project:

Ridley began the Dean project with a unbridled desire to win the Tour de France and a clear understanding of aerodynamics. Every carbon fiber on this frame is designed to slice through the air as efficiently as possible. R-Flow jet foils on the fork and seat stay blades reduce drag created by the wheel while R-Surface aerodynamic paint pulls the air cleanly over frame tubing that is optimized to eliminate as much drag as possible. The desire to make the fastest bikes in the world led Ridley engineers to unveil the Ridley Aero Project.

R-FLOW Project: The intention of the R-Flow project was to reduce the drag/turbulence generated by the spokes and wheels. The result: R-Flow technology. The new Dean and Noah incorporate R-Flow™ featuring fork blades and seat stays with jet foils which draw air away from the spokes, and counteract turbulence generated by the wheels. This aerodynamic effect creates a vacuum resulting in a significant reduction in wheel drag. The Dean and Noah also feature groundbreaking foam molding technology, allowing sharp edges, and difficult shapes to be incorporated into the carbon fiber molding process without adding weight. R-Flow technology is the science of speed. To see more on R-Flow technology click here:

R-Surface
Another proprietary technology is R-Surface, a proprietry boundary layer technology. The boundary layer is a thin band of air that "adheres" to the surface of an airfoil. A thin boundary layer allows the air mass to travel around the frame smoothly. R-Surface is a patent-pending paint technology from Ridley that allows the air to cling more closely to the frame. Using data from extensive wind tunnel testing during the painting process, Ridley engineers applied texture to strategic locations on the frame. The R-Surface allows it to move smoothly around the frame and release cleanly rather than detaching early and creating additional turbulence and speed-sapping drag. Wind tunnel data shows R-Surface aerodynamic paint technology to give up to a 3% reduction in drag. Already proved faster in a wind tunnel than the competition, the Dean and the Noah allow the rider to ride faster with less effort. Valuable seconds gained in the Tour time trials by Cadel Evans on the Dean, and further sprint victories on the Noah by Robby McEwen will further prove — these are the fastest bikes in the world.
